The collision was to the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The violent nature of the collision caused the safety restraint to fail, wrapping around her left arm, traumatically amputating her left arm at the shoulder, and throwing the client across the interior of the vehicle, and out of the passenger side of the car. Attorney, Darryl B. Freedman, contended the safety restraint had a defective buckle, which released during the collision, causing the traumatic amputation of client’s left arm. Client underwent surgical procedures to close the wound as doctors were unable to reattach her arm. Client is permanently disfigured and disabled. Defendant automobile manufacturer hired numerous experts who contended that client was not wearing the safety restraint at the time of the collision.

While stopped for a school bus, Client’s vehicle was rear ended by a vehicle traveling at a speed of approximately 55 miles per hour. Client fractured his back, resulting in two lumbar fusions. The first fusion involved two levels at L4-S1 and about a year later, a single level fusion was also required at L3-L4. Client also suffered a head injury and severe strains of his neck, right hip area, and right ankle. Client continued to experience relentless pain as well as post concussive symptoms and depression.

Heading home from work, Client was thrown from his motorcycle approximately 10 feet after a truck turned left in front of him. Client was transported to the hospital by ambulance with right side facial trauma with swelling, right upper chest contusion, right hand and arm lacerations, right hip pain, and right leg pain. Client was admitted to the hospital with a right pelvic fracture, right lower extremity tibia fracture, right eyelid laceration and bruising, loss of consciousness, and multiple abrasions. Client was hospitalized for approximately thirteen days before his passing. Settlement was distributed along family members.

The client, who was a pedestrian and was J-walking, was struck by a company vehicle who was unsafely backing to retrieve merchandise that became dislodged from the rear of the vehicle. The client was hospitalized for approximately 3 weeks and sustained a fractured pelvis and required two hernia surgeries. The responsible party argued that the Freedman Law, INC.’s client was negligent for failing to observe the company vehicle backing unlawfully down the street. They also argued that the client was outside the crosswalk and responsible for his own injuries.

A family of three adult males was traveling home when they were t-boned by a distracted driver of a commercial vehicle. The collision caused the driver and passengers to sustain numerous injuries including a broken hip and leg, abdominal trauma, and fractured lumbar vertebrae. Result: $1,105,000

A passenger on a City of Fresno FAX bus was thrown from her seat when the driver negligently stopped. Due to the fall she suffered a broken femur which required emergency surgery. She also required extensive rehabilitation for her knee. Result: $500,000.

A passenger in a vehicle which was struck by a drunk driver. The crash broke her femur and a bone in her foot which both required surgery. The crash also caused injuries to her liver as well as fracturing vertebrae in her lower back. Result: Policy Limits distribution on the drunk driver policy and $495,000 policy limits recovery on the Underinsured Motorist policy.

A physically active, in good health, 55 year-old woman, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike. She suffered multiple mid foot fractures and dislocation requiring surgical fixation, facial trauma and abrasions, trauma and bruising to her left hip and right elbow. Her foot fracture has required three (3) surgeries. She is dependent on a cane.

Client was rear ended on the freeway. She suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as a broken vertebra in her neck, broken ribs, and various injuries to her internal organs, which required a tracheostomy to help her breathe due. Result: The policy limit of $300,000.

As a result of a collision caused by a sudden and unsafe lane change, our client suffered injuries to his shoulders, knee, ankle and headaches. He sought treatment with his primary physician, neurologist and orthopedic surgeon. Our client spent several months undergoing four surgical procedures to address the injuries he sustained in the September 2015 motor vehicle collision. He is fortunate that the procedures he underwent have alleviated many of the symptoms of which he initially complained.

A family man and correctional officer was traveling northbound on HWY 145 when a semi-truck pulled out of a driveway in front of him. There was no way for our client to avoid the crash, which caused him to collide with the trailer. As a result of the collision, he suffered a fracture to his left wrist, an injured neck, and hip. While the fracture in his wrist and hip pain healed, his neck pain persisted and he underwent several injections to alleviate the symptoms in his neck. Throughout his recovery, he has maintained a positive attitude with a lot of loving family support.

Our client, a delightful and vibrant 13 year old girl, was struck by a motor vehicle traveling 55 miles per hour. She was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital trauma unit and suffered blunt trauma to her body, right elbow tenderness, in antecubital fossa, right ankle swelling, tenderness and deformity and abrasions. Several x-rays were taken of her right elbow, right forearm, right foot, right ankle and right lower leg, which revealed a bimalleolar ankle fracture. With the continued support of her loving family, she continues to get better both physically and emotionally.

Our client, an active great-grandmother, was T-boned on her driver’s door by someone who ran a red light. She was rushed to the hospital in need of surgery to repair her spleen and also sustained a broken arm and pelvis. After her accident, it was necessary for her to be in a rehabilitation center for several months, before she was finally able to return to her home. Prior to her accident, our client was a very involved great-grandmother and often cheered from the sidelines at her great-grandson’s soccer games. Now, she is on the mend and hoping to be back at those soccer games this fall.

A distracted driver ran a red light colliding with the vehicle in which our client was an innocent passenger. The violent force of the impact left our client severely injured. She sustained a broken hip, broken pelvis, right sacral fracture, closed right inferior/superior rami fracture and sacral ala fracture, diffuse disc bulge, central and left paracentral disc protrusion and will have some ongoing treatment these injuries. Our client maintained an upbeat and positive outlook throughout her recovery and is very pleased with the outcome of her case.

A 53-year-old woman was standing on the side of a residential roadway when she was hit by a golf-cart. Our client was knocked unconscious and was later diagnosed with a neurocognitive disorder secondary to a traumatic brain injury; post-traumatic stress disorder; depressive disorder; anxiety disorder; nasal abrasions and contusion, loss of consciousness, concussion, lost sense of smell, amnesia for the incident; headaches, neck pain, right forearm to hand paresthesia; left scapular and shoulder pain. She has been delightfully optimistic through this trying recovery process, has retrained herself, and has moved forward with a positive outlook.
